Smokey Mink is a grey thoroughbred gelding by Private Terms out of Mink Hat. He was born on May 30, 1992. Smokey Mink is a Maryland bred and had 26 career starts with lifetime earnings of $15,770. His sire, Private Terms was a Multiple Graded Stakes winner with earnings of $1,243,947. The R.A.C.E. Fund saved Smokey from going to slaughter in March 2013. Nearly starved to death, very ill and his spirit broken, it was not certain for the first few weeks if he would survive or not. However, with immediate vet care and around the clock care, Smokey has rebounded and is doing very well now. He has a good appetite and enjoys just being a horse. Smokey will permanently reside at one of our participating farms in Maryland.
